This Blu-ray Disc edition has been mastered from the 2013 restoration of the film prepared from an archival 35mm print of the 1923 rerelease version of the film held by La Cinémathèque française, a highly-damaged 35mm nitrate positive from the Dawson City recovery held by the Library of Congress, and a 16mm reduction print held by Lobster Films, Paris. The restoration was a cooperative effort of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival and the Cinémathèque française.
The film is accompanied by a music score composed and performed on piano by Donald Sosin.
Supplementary material includes audio commentaries for The Good Bad-Man and The Half-Breed by Tracey Goessel and Robert Byrne; the featurette “Amazing Tales from the Archives: Restoring The Half-Breed” from a presentation at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival (44 minutes); The Half-Breed stills gallery (22 images) and The Good Bad-Man stills gallery (11 images); and reversible storage case artwork.
